EDUCATION OF EMPOWERING PHOTOGRAPHY:

Education of the method of empowering photography is organised in Finland in the fields of educational, care and therapeutical work. Open education is usually part of universities complementary programmes. Also different posts can get tailor-made courses. Part of the open education is based only on the viewpoint of family photography and narrative work for identity, and there is no familiarization for the professional pedagogic use of the method. Open education in english is not currently available. 

 The Finnish Phototherapy Association is going to organize an international conference on phototherapy in Finland. Besides phototherapy there will be an opportunity to participate on a workshop on empowering photography. The conference is especially aimed at people who work in or are interested in phototherapy and therapeutic photography, researchers and educators of the field. It provides a unique opportunity to share the latest knowledge and ideas.

International Conference On Phototherapy And Therapeutic Photography
will be held in Turku, Finland on 16-18 June 2008. The pre-conference workshops will be arranged on 12-15 June 2008 in the surrounding archipelago.
